I look for what I consider beautiful drawing, and what I’ve called “found” or “accidental” drawings, everywhere. Mostly I find them in the streets of cities, or along roadways. I don’t believe that all great drawing is either intentional or made by an artist’s hand. When I find something that draws my attention, I record it and then walk away from it. I’ve amassed a library of these images, most of which I carry around with me in my phone, and some in the memory cards of my camera.
Finding something I would have been happy to have made gives me the same pleasure as having made it myself. What excites me is discovering something that speaks to my sense of wonder.
